The fall list: 10 things to do before winter

Fall is a season worth making plans for.Think long walks through the woods with your favorite people, coffee runs in your favorite layers, spontaneous day trips and evenings that somehow turn into your favorite memories. Before the leaves are gone and winter arrives, here are 10 little things to do, try and romanticize this season.

01 go on a long walk with your friends

Put on your favorite fall layers, grab a coffee and head into the woods.

Leave your phones in your bags, talk about everything and nothing, and take the long way home.

02 bake something from scratch

Make cinnamon rolls, apple pie or your favorite fall treat. Put on a playlist, invite a friend over and make an afternoon out of it.

03 go somewhere just to see the leaves

Find a beautiful forest, park or little town and spend an afternoon walking around. Take pictures, get coffee and let yourself be a tourist for the day.

05 wear the outfit you've been saving

There is no perfect occasion. Wear it to dinner, coffee or simply because you feel like it.

05 take photos with a disposable camera

Spend one day documenting the season without checking how the photos turned out. You'll have to wait until they're developed.

06 have a candlelit dinner at home

Cook something together, put on music, light every candle you own and dress up anyway. Make staying in feel like going out.

07 visit a museum you've never been to

Spend an afternoon wandering around without rushing. Finish the day with a drink somewhere nearby.

08 make your own fall drink

Create your signature order at home. Try different flavors until you find the one that feels like your drink of the season.

09 visit a local market

Go early, walk around slowly and pick up something you've never tried. Turn the ingredients into dinner when you get home.

10 create a fall tradition

Choose something you can do every year with the people you love. Maybe it's the same forest walk, café, dinner or day trip.

Give yourself something you'll look forward to every fall.
